Here are some self explanatory photos. This bracket is mainly for power tilt/trim engines although it can be used on engines without. HOWEVER: For engines without power tilt/trim, a simple "U" shaped bar bent at the ends to fit into the transom clamp holes is sufficient. You MUST, however remember to engage the reverse lock when using either trailering bar.
Now, Many people will insist on using a transom saver. They think that the transom is not strong enough to withstand trailering stresses. I submit, however that when you throttle up the engine on a hole shot. the force applied to the transom is FAR GREATER than any trailering stresses. You make your own decision.
