Need a diagram showing the linkage from the fuel to the timing the little plastic piece has broke that connects them together with the screw what is this piece

It is the link that is used to adjust timing. Most guys replace them with a custom made aluminum piece. Be aware that one of the two blocks is right hand thread and the other is left hand thread. (1/4 X 28 national fine)

No you do not need to remove flywheel to re-time it. Just a plain old inductive timing light. There is a video showing how to do this in one of the stickies on top of this forum. Or you can search it on u-tube.

Loosing spark from a linkage change?
CDI ignition has test procedures for checking your system.

Did you re-verify the timing after repairing the linkage? If not, you need to. There is video on the link and synch on how this is done.
