A 1972 Chrysler should have a points distributor. You can easily mount an automotive coil rated for 12 volts, not 9 volts and install a capacitor across the points to prevent arcing. Cheap and it works, but not as good as the Motorola magna-power. Not quite as cheap but a better option is to buy an after-market CD unit.

Yes it is. I have it on my 1977 75Hp Chrysler and it works perfect.
Have in mind that it do not have a tach wire.

A tacho is not absolutely necessary if your engine set up is okey.
The Motorola or delta MagnaPower I ign.system had a white wire for tacho and the CDI 115-3301 does not have it.
I am not quiet sure but older Chrysler 3-4 cyl. engines with factory automotive style ign.system used one wire from the alternator for the tacho.
Maybe you can go that way, but it depends on what tacho you have.
Another way is to use a tinytach aftermarket tacho as they wrap a wire around one of the hightension wires for signal.
