Hi all
I've just bought a new (to me) boat, with a VP D4 with DPH drive.
The rudder indicator does not appear to be working, and I was after some advice on how to diagnose the fault.
More info: The rudder indicator type has the sensor connected to a rod/Bowden cable that connects to the leg out drive on the exterior of the transom.
Engine is 2007 VP D4 260hp with DPH-A drive.
The boat has the Volvo EVC system.
My previous boats had Mercruisers and I was pretty handy at most of the maintenance and understanding the various mechanical / electrical systems (so I'm not a complete idiot!).
Any thoughts / advise on this; where should I start the diagnosis?
Also, if its the connecting cable that's at fault, can this be replaced in the water (I'd expect unlikely)?
