I jut installed a new Sea Star rack and pinion steering cable. Steering is very easy now, however it likes to veer to the starboard side. When out of the water and the motor is tilted up, it will fall to the side. There is no tension adjustment on the helm to tighten it up. Did I do something wrong when I installed it. Motor turns all the way left and right and does not stop before being fully turned. Steering appears to be centered.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... What motor,..?

Sounds like yer seein' prop torque steer, now that yer steerin' is free,....

Yer motor probably has a torque tab on the bottom of the cav-plate, above the prop,....

Loosen it, 'n turn it the other way,...

Thanks, it does. Never even thought of that. Glad it could be something so simple. Didn't want to crawl up under the steering wheel again.
