I have been doing some work on an old boat I have. Its a 16 ft aluminum flat bottom. I am thinking about moving the side console to the center and further towards the front of the boat. Im trying to make more room in the boat and want to remove the passenger seat. With the boat leaning to console side, I figure this will only make the balance worse. I'm wondering what peoples thoughts are on relocating a console. I know it would involve fabricating a different console and relocating steering linkage, ignition, transmission cables. Theres not a lot of room in the floor for cables and wires. Is it too difficult? If I do all that work, is the steering linkage still going to be hanging of one side of the console?
