I have a 99 Evinrude 50hp, and the shifter has stopped working do to the plastic piece that locks the cable in position has broken apart. Is there a way to order that part separate from the whole cable? The circled part is what I'm asking about. Its 2 separate plastic half moon pieces. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

25-40$. Replace the cable. Probably due anyway. I used to screw around with "fixing" and "lubing" control cables. I finally learned, just replace them if there is any issue.

Have you checked with the "Rude" people? I replaced a Force 85 with a 100HP Evinrude. They used the same cables. On the Force they were screw-on type. The ones they used were white round screw on balls. The motor had slots made for them. Good luck!

That piece is molded on the cable when it is made, if it is in 2 pieces, it's time to replace the cable.
