Hello everyone new to the site and boating in general and having quite a learning curve. For some ungodly reason I decided my first boat project would be a 1966 GW Invader that is a total of 10' in length. I'm at the point where I'm attempting to attach my newly purchased Teleflex cable steering to a 1961 Johnson Seahorse 40hp. The steering arm linkage I have is way too long to work not to mention the angle that the engine is going to be at under steering. I do have a transom clamp block...I'm hoping there's an alternate solution out there??? I'm at the point where I'm about to toss this mess on craigslist or give it a viking funeral. I appreciate any and ALL responses...

I've tried to upload photos several times from multiple image servers so I guess I also need advice on how to do this :(

read the tutorials in the general rules and guidlines forum

your boat is not rated for a 40hp

I've seen some 10' Invaders with some big power.
One had a 40, and one had a 65 on it.

The Invader was not actually hp rated if I recall.

The 115 on my fishing boat actually came off a 14' invader.

Sorry, I can't help you with hooking up that motor.
