Hello Everyone! Probably a simple question here, I am fairly new to boating but learning quickly. I was doing a tuneup on my outboard and while cleaning the engine up I touched the throttle linkage and noticed some play. My question is how much slop should be in connection end of the throttle connection? The slop is where the cable connects to the black link that makes the connection to the carb linkage. Hope that makes sense. The engine runs fine but concerned If these stretch over time or if the previous owner didn't assemble it correctly.

Be well and Fish On! 🐟

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... When ya push the throttle forward, does the carb throttle plate open All the way,..??
When ya pull back to idle, does the motor idle,..??

If so, it's just Fine,....

Yes it does. Thank you ever so much for the reply. So I suppose it is good to go. I just worry about getting out and about and the silly thing having issues.
Again thanks
