Hello everyon.
I'm very new the boat scene but learning fast.
I have a 1991 Starcraft 160 C which I'm restoring for my 14 year old son, who is a bass fishing fanatic.
So my question is I have a Mercury 40 oil injected outboard that needs new throttle cable, I believe 2 of them. The old one are done and breaking apart.
How do I order new cables ?
What do I need to look for or measure

Thank you

I'm reading this as if the 40hp Merc and the StarCraft 160 C are currently separate...so, is there any motor, control, and control cables (and any steering) on the boat now? May be a good starting point for figuring out what all you'll need.

The length is usually listed at one or both cable ends. It may also be part of the part number on the cable.

Sorry, but everything is still together on the boat.
And it does have a steering wheel and a side mount controls.

I will look on the cables but they are so sun beaten that the shield on the cables are falling apart.

I have the same boat as SierraMark. The one that he restored back in 2013.
