Hung the ole Merc 95 Thunderbolt on my boat for the first time last weekend, and hooked up throttle and shifter controller, a Merc throw back from 1970, wiring is Great motor turned right over, had no gas hooked up yet, so just gave it a quick rotation and stopped.
But upon hooking throttle and shifter up, with controller in neutral, motor wont lift for towing, if I pull shifter forward say 1/4 throttle, then I can lift the motor for towing, shouldn't this motor lift to stow postion when shifter is in neutral??
Now I have to wonder if the motor will fire once fuel is put to it, now prior to robbing the motor and controller off its prior home an ole tri hull, I had fired the motor and everything worked as I assumed it should, motor fired with shifter in neutral
