Regarding the final barrel adjustment on the control (to helm) cable, MR/Alpha. The Mercruiser Service Manual Number 6 Pg 2a-20 and the better YouTube videos show turning the cable barrel away from the eye (4 Turns) which adds some clearance to the clutch dogs when put into gear. The Seloc 3200 Manual 1964-91 Pg 7-5 shows turning the barrel toward the eye of the cable which pulls the dogs tight and then some. As I understand it, the prop resistance is supposed to pull the undercut clutch dogs to there closed running position. Is the Seloc Manual (published 1995) in error or am I misreading something. Thanks

Seloc manuals make great knee pads, just crappy manuals.
