Four winds to 2004 Johnson 115 shift cable

I had a twleflex shift cable cc20515 anchor point break at my concealed mount shift cable. I have to replace it obviously the pn is easy and I have already sourced on but you guys got any tricks for removal and installation? I couldn't get the remote/motor to neutral before the disassembly as the shift cable wasn't secured and I was stuck in gear.

Ah, you found your issue.

Lets see, you have a flush mount if I remember.

Remove the set screw. Pop the handle off. Remove bezel. You should see three machine screews. Remove them. Cut cable ties holdining all the crap together in side the gunnel stowage area.

Un plug yel/ red stripe wires from unit.

You should be able to slide remote box back through the gunnel stowage area to open it up and replace cables. You may be have to put handle on to shift to allow removel of the little nuts that hold the cable end keepers on.
