Adding Power Steering to 85 Galaxy I/O Bowrider with 3 Liter GM Mercruiser?

I've had pretty stiff steering on my 85 Galaxy ever since I bought it in 2010. I've had the steering rack replaced during the winter of 2010 but frankly, an afternoon on the water leaves my arms and shoulders aching. What would be involved in adding some sort of power steering to my boat, cash wise and work wise? And will it make as much of a difference as power steering does on a car in reducing the effort required to steer?

Ayuh,..... Ya need a pump, it's mount for a 3.0l, a cooler, an actuator which oughta be the easiest to find, it ain't 3.0l specific, nor is the cooler,....
'n the lines/ hoses,... of course, which probably are 3.0L specific,...

Ya might score 'em cheap used,... New will be very, Very expensive,....
