1985 bayliner capri shift/throttle control

I took it all apart, original equipment to replace the vinyl on the side piece that the control is bolted onto. Now I cannot remember how it goes together. The shift cable box bolts to the wood of the side piece by means of a square plate. I cannot tell which way that plate is oriented to the shift cable box. Anyone have a picture or diagram or a description that I can use to put this together? I can take picture if needed. Thanks.

I thought I had it together but now there is no neutral. Throttle gives it gas but that's all. Any ideas are appreciated. Thx. Joe
