Crossed battery terminals..

Me and some buddies have been Bowfishing three nights in a row with about 10 total hours of sleep, finally on the third night the lack of sleep got to me and I crossed battery terminals. There was a small spark and the electric start doesn't work on my 25 hp Yamaha. The pull start works, lights work, and trolling motor work. Killed the starter maybe?

Any fuses on the motor or in the starter switch wiring?

Looking at the Yammy manual, there just might be a fuse or some kind of protection. On page 59 a electric start relay fuse is mentioned as well. It might be the same one in the pic on page 63.

Welcome to iboats!:welcome:

No way reversing polarity would fry the starter. Even if you had tried to engage it, it would have simply run backwards.

You've blown a fuse or fusible link, popped a circuit breaker, or fried a wire.
