Hey guys got a question.

I am running a 55lb 12v trolling motor from a battery 10' away. I am using 6 gauge wire to be on the safe side. If the wire of the TM and TM Jack are a lighter gauge doesn't it negate using the heavier wire from the jack to the battery? Obviously I wouldnt want a 10' run with the 8 gauge that they use for the TM jack, but should I consider trying to find a TM jack with heavier wiring?

If the red and black in the motor leads that are 8ga. or less have not been shortened you already have 10' going down to drive motor brushes. The heavy wire to the battery are so you don't drop voltage across the length of the run. Even full speed doesn't draw 40 amps in most cases.
