Minn Kota V2 48 Knocking?

I have a Minn Kota V2. When I run the motor dry I hear a "knocking" noise in the front housing. Is this normal? It runs fine and has plenty power.

No it is not normal. You need to find out what is causing it.

I would guess that a permanent magnet is loose and striking the armature. the unit has to be disassembled.. Good Luck!
