Minn kota 599 wireing 12 only

I recently purchased a boat with Minn-Kota 599 12/24 bow mount. The boat only has 1 battery so 12 volt . I have a red black and white wire. I am guessing the black is ground but which wire do I hook up to the positive post on the battery? the red or the white?
