Hi all, first time poster. I've got 2 motors, both wired for electric start. Both are 1964 models. One is a 28 HP, Model RX-12M, serial J2455104. The other is a 40 HP, Model RK-26S, serial 2412616. The 40 HP model has an alternator (listed as a generator in manuals) that I would like to put in the 28 HP engine. I've looked at schematics until I'm cross-eyed and can't seem to figure out what I need to add, if anything, to the 28 engine in order for the alternator to work. So, I'm hoping you all can help. The bracket and alt. fit perfectly onto the block as expected. Most of the parts on the 40 work on the 28. I guess I should add that I'm going to ditch the cabling from the starter box and just put in a push button starter and kill switch. Not sure if that matters, but that's the plan. If there's any further info needed, I will provide anything I can.

Much appreciated,
