Hi, I am new to this so please bare with me, I have a electric Spartan horn that decided not to sound after we have dry docked the boat for a few years. It will make a clicking sound, and we are getting a new switch to try, even though it tested fine, but was told by an older fella that we should set the horn's coil. Does anyone know how to do this? I am familiar with DC electronics worked with it a long time, but never on this thing. Any help would be nice. thanks

Welcome to iboats!:welcome:

Check all connections and make sue they are clean and tight. Measure the voltage at the horn with the switch engaged. Lastly, if there is a opening in the horn, perhaps you have mud daubers or some other beasties in residence.

No idea what "setting the coil" means.

Sometimes theres a screw on the horn to adjust the tone, that's about it.

On the back of the horn, there is usually a single screw. It may be hidden under a label. Remove it and the cover should come off. There is an adjusting screw or nut sitting there that closes or separates the vibration reeds. You might also trying spraying the virbating reeds with a lubricant.
