140 Mercruiser inboard/out board Coil replacement

Can not determine age of boat but believe mid 80's
We are not getting any power from the coil. I can hold the wires during ignition and nothing
Is there a generic part I can get from Canadian Tire that would be easily found and relatively inexpensive?

Ayuh,.... My guess is, ya need a new set of Points, 'n not a coil,....
