voltage regulator

1972 omc sterndrive 225 where does the voltage regulator mount to the engine. It is mounted to the thermostat housing now it is in the way when adjusting the carb. Thanks Rich

It mounts on the thermostat housing like you said. Why not just remove it temporarily and let it dangle when doing your adjustments?

Or if you don't like it there and have the wiring length or wish to rewire it, move it. Usually, a cooler environment contributes to the life of electrical parts.
