My 20 foot Javelin fish and ski has a 12 volt trolling motor with a 40 inch shaft. Need to identify some 24 volt trolling motors what will work. Boats already got 24v at the TM receptacle.

Found a Motorguide but it was a 52 inch shaft. Is that gonna be too long? I looked at a sizing guide and it indicated so. Seller mentioned that at 71lb thrust, all the TM are going to be 50+ inches in length. Is that correct? Not a great selection on CL right now. LOL

Most TM shafts are adjustable with a stop collar on the shaft.. It's easier to make them shorter than longer.

+1 and it's better if its longer as you can make it shorter. Making it longer usually doesn't work well.
