I have a Humminbird 550 fishfinder. This past weekend while using it I could not get it to show the bottom in black. I went through the settings numerous times but no luck. I did notice that through the stereo I could here it ping. The problem is it only sends out one ping every 6 -8 seconds. Mi manual states most of their fishfinders send about 40 per second. Would this be the transducer that is no good or something with the head unit? It will show depth readings of 30' then it will show .6' reading. Or it will not show anything. You input will be appreciated. Mike.
