I have a Garmin 441S chartplotter and I have looked high and low for the exact answer but can't find it. On my nav window on the unit when we put in a destination there is one set of info I don't quite get. Under the OFF COURSE it will say L .06 Ft or R .06 Ft or some numbers with the L and R. I have just always assumed it meant Right and Left. The other day while out tho it didn't seem to match up with the bearing so now not so sure.
Anyone enlighten me on its meaning if not right and left.
Thanks
Mark

It should mean left or right of the course from the previous waypoint (or place you activated navigation) to the destination waypoint. Bearing is the direction of the destination waypoint from present position ... ;)
