Batteries

I have a 1988 stratos 266 fs,it currently has 3 batteries and a 3 bank charger,do i really need 3 batteries or can i get by with 2?:confused:

I would start by checking that it starts and everything works on one battery. If it does, then 2 should be fine (for me anyway). Most boats running 3 batteries around here are also running higher amp electric trolling motors, some run on 36V. If you don't have one or plan to add one, I would save the weight.

(2) batteries here... one of them solo to power Humingbird 581 HDci. dont want any power spikes to tweak it... of course there's the time I turned off the boat and left ignition switch on aux....:D opps....... that cost me a $125

What is running off your 3 batteries?

I am running a 24 volt 88 johnson trolling motor,a 88 110 evinrude outboard, fishfinder,vro ,gauges etc,i just bought the boat last febuary,so im fairly new at fiberglass boats

I would keep the 3. 2 devoted to the trolling motor and the one for your engine.

Ayuh,.... or get ready to tryin' pull rope start that 110hp motor,....
