When I start crossing the lake with the big motor the depth readings start jumping from like 47.9 to 2.4 and then down to 50.5 and back up to 3.6. I know that the middle of the lake is nearly 50 feet deep so I don't know why the unit quits reading properly. It doesn't matter how fast or slow we are moving when it does this. Then when it starts getting dark and I hit the power button to turn the back light on the short menu comes on in the middle of the screen and I don't know how to get rid of the menu and still have the back light on. Hitting exit or the power button will remove the menu but it shuts the light off too.
