Can anyone advise if the modular connector on the Mercury Smartcraft - NMEA 2000 gateway has a male or female end to connect to the junction box?
I am putting together my list of the pieces i need to get my system all connected to my Garmin 740S.
Thanks.

The connector can be changed if you need the other gender. Maretron makes both male and female quick install connectors.
I have a dozen of the males, but no females. The NMEA 2000 connectors are not cheap for most part running average of $20 each. I got a deal on the males so bought a few extra for prosperity. Now if I could just get lucky on the females. Cable is also kind of expensive but bulk can be had when you figure out the right cable type.
