Any opinions on this unit, or Navman stuff in general? I know they aren't made anymore and were basically the same thing as Northstar.
I can get the full unit with GPS antenna and transducer for $600. I was looking at the Garmin 740s and almost pulled the trigger, but then I came across this.
With a transducer and tax the Garmin will be around $1,200. The Navman is $600 out the door, so 1/2 the price. The Garmin is newer, touchscreen and slimmer and also has an internal antenna, but not sure if all that is worth double the cost.
Any input on whether or not the Garmin internal antenna will work properly if it is flush mounted in a dash and under a hard top?
