I am looking for some help, I recently purchased some trolling motor heads that I am looking to install on my boat. Problem is that there are 5 wires coming out of the motor, a heavier black and white, which I believe to be the power to the motor, but then there is a red, blue and a green that I would say are about 18 - 20 guage. I think these would go to a speed pot, bt I have no idea what kind of speed pot I would need or which wire would go were. If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.
The motors are 101lb thrust 36 volt, they were actually originally to be put on Lenco Thrust N Tabs, I am planning on converting them into a typical troller. I have an 82lb thrust 24 volt troller currently but need more power. I was originally told to just purchase a new lower unit(head) and it should be fine, well I found a good deal on these and scooped them up. Now I just need to wire them.
I did contact Lenco, and all they said is that the wireing is as follows:
White: Positive
Black: Negative
Red: 12V out
Blue: Ground
Green: Data
How does that get hooked to a speed pot and which one would work?
