I have a 1987 Motorguide Brute 24v troller.....when I press the switch to run the motor, the thrust of the motor wants to make the shaft turn, thus I am having to compensate with the pedal to keep it going in one direction. It keeps wanting to go to the left.
Is there an adjustment somewhere to tighten the shaft to quit turning when the dirction pedal isnt pressed??

Any of the cable steer motors have this problem. You can adjust the friction on the motors, but they will still do this. One way of solving it is with a TrollPerfect.

This simple cheap device gets good reviews from anyone who uses it. I'll be adding one before next season for sure.
