Just purchased a Tracker pro 16, has a x50ds fish finder on it, want to install a Mark 4 with gps. Both units are by Lowrance, do I have to change the transducer?

Re: fish finders

Not normally, you can splice in a different connector if needed but Lowrance usually uses the same connector on all their transducers. You may want to run the model number on the ducer to see if it has the same frequency ranges that your head unit is capable of. There are single (50mhz), dual (50/200mhz) and tripple (50/80/200mhz) models and if your head unit can handle a dual or tripple you might want to take advantage of it.
