okay, I have read the thousand questions about wiring but can't seem to find the one for me. I am wiring my nav. lights and stern light seperately. I have nav light wired and working off of trolling motor battery at front of pontoon boat. My stern light will be wired seperately to another battery in the back. The receptor for the pole has 2 BLACK wires. What do I need to do? Is one supposed to be pos. Please explain in simple terms. thanks

Re: stern light wiring

The light doesn't care which is which, as long as one is connected to a positive source, and one is attached to a negative ...

from battery positive into a fuse, then to one pole on the switch, out the other pole on the switch, into the light on one of the wires (doesn't matter which one) through the bulb, out the other wire to ground.
