The reason I'm asking is because all the original wiring is still in place and with the exception of a few wires needing to be trimed back a little due to exposure. All seem to be fine. Just not hooked up properly. Or so I think. And so I'd like to just use what's in place and not have to run new ( the boats been milking me lately).

The boat is a 1978 Procraft 1700 maiden craft.

Boats have a way of draining you dont they, and its not likely a wiring diagram was ever made for your boat. The good news is ever boat shares a common wiring plan.

I see. So how about this.

I see some of the wiring diagrams on here. Which is going to greatly help me. But what about switch wiring.

I have some switches with 2-6 or so posts on the back and no clue how they are supposed to be wired.

Look in the stickies. There are wiring diagrams for switches as well. It also depends on what switch you have and what it does, or what it's expected to do.
