honda bf8d field disconnect wiring

Hello,

Just wiring my 2004 honda bf8d 8hp 4 stroke outboard which i intend on using for trolling. My question is does this motor have and external regulator that i can wire to the field disconnect feature that my perko 2 battery selector switch has as an option for protecting the diodes?

Field disconnect does not apply to a stator type of charging system. You haven't described your complete setup so I question why a perko switch is needed. Is the Honda the only motor, or is it a kicker and there is a bigger motor as well.
