Bought a boat that already had a Furuno GPS Navigator on it.... looking at Furunos Website I believe it is a GP32 - when I power it up all I get is a green backlit ..... no text or anything else.

Any ideas? Cannot find a manual on it and not sure if it is completely shot or just not getting a signal.

Re: Furuno GPS

Once you have the manual, discover how to change the display contrast. Perhaps the unit is working but the display contrast has been adjusted improperly. This is just a wild guess as to the cause, but it fits the only symptom you described.

Thanks for the input - I did manage to adjust the contrast a bit but the text is just barely visible which leads me to believe the display is shot.

Re: Furuno GPS

Perhaps the backlight for the display has lost its light output. That could be caused by a something as simple as a bad connection. If the the device has been on a boat for a while and exposed to the weather, a bad internal connection could be a possibility.
