My Wellcraft Coastal 290 has a Guest remote spotlight. It rotates fine, but won't tilt up and down. Does that sound like something in the switch or the light itself? If it is in the head of the light, are they repairable?

Re: Remote spotlight problem

Remove the Switch and Ohm meter the readings to test the switch. If you have a break in the wire your going to have some long test wires to again test conductivity..

Or you can remove the spotlight and test bench that first ..

Re: Remote spotlight problem

Not familiar with the Guest brand of lights but I do have a GO-Light that also rotates and tilts up/down. Lost control completely in my light and it turned out to be a bad connection in the in-line 6 pin connector of the wiring harness. When I found the problem, the plastic body of the connector was melted and black around one pin, and the connector pin itself was all discolored and not making contact with its mating part. I purchased a new harness from the mfr and all is good now.
