How do I solve the front gate clearance problem I now have on my pontoon

since installing a trolling motor?

I'd like to keep a gate of some kind for the safety of the grand-kids.

Does anyone make a half-sized gate?

I've seen potoon fishing boats with half-sized gates. Where can I get one?

Dealer says No such thing. You'll just have to remove the gate permanently.

I say I think you're full of it.

Any help?

Your dealer should be flogged for an answer like that. Many pontoon manufacturer offers a pontoon that is specifically set up for fishing. That generally includes a half-size gate. Here is picture of mine. Note that it was still not high enough to clear the motor but an easy modification solved that. This gate is on a Misty Harbor 1880CF.

Thanks, Silvertip!

That's exactly what I needed.

And the picture is a bonus....I appreciate it much.

I have a motorguide wirless on mine, the mounting bracket is low profile enough to fit under a standard gate, no modifications necessary.

works excellent too, will post pics in a bit.
