Bolt on battery terminal stuck

I am trying to add a on board charger to my boat and the posotive terminal on the deep cycle just spins when i try to loosen the bolt..any ideas on how to get the bolt off

I'm not following you. There's only one bolt in a typical battery/cable arrangement. See number 2 below.

1. You have a large positive battery terminal and a small (threaded) positive battery terminal. Is one of those turning? If so, your battery is toast- it's broken.

2. You have a thick battery cable with a clamp end and a bolt and nut that secure it to the positive terminal of the battery. Is that the bolt that just keeps turning?

3. You probably have a smaller battery cable with an eye end that slips over the small, threaded positive terminal of the battery, and is secured by a nut or wingnut. If the nut is what keeps turning without unscrewing, either the nut's or the battery terminal's threads are stripped.

Which is the problem?

3... there is the threaded connection that has a bolt on it and when i put the wrench on the bolt the whole bolt and terminal turn at the same time

Thanks, just ended up taking the battery to where i purchased it and they swopped it out for a new one
