I have hooked up the blue "NEMA out" from the garmin to the red "NEMA in" on the Icom. I hooked up the brown "NEMA in" on the Garmin to the white "NEMA out" on the Icom. When both are powered up, the Icom dosen't see any GPS input. Where did I go wrong? I have set the com settings on the Garmin to NEMA in/NEMA out. 4800 baud and the default settings which includes gprmc.

Alright! I have endeavored to persevere. I have conquered this problem and am about to help the next poor soul who has this problem. The shields on the ICOM must be well grounded to the same battery negative as the GPS. You can do it at the radio power lead if both are using the same battery. Also, the GPS must be receiving a location signal or it wont show up on the ICOM.
:D
