I am going to replace my windshield wiper motor. The new motor came included with a fuse on a wire and the instructions were to have the 5 amp fuse placed on the hot leg. I assume the original motor was hooked into a fuse on the fuse panel. Do I need to include the fuse that came in the box or can I just wire the motor using the existing wires? The wiper motor is AFI brand.

Re: windshield wiper motor

I am trying to replace my wiper motor but I am having trouble getting the wiper arm off. It was held in place with 2 set screws. I removed these but cannot get it off so that i can remove the nut holding the motor in place. Any thoughts how to get the arm off? Thanks

On the fuse point, make sure the first fuse in line is the smaller of the two (likely 5Amp).

If you cut out the 5A on the wiper, but have a 25A on the circuit, you could have a fire before the 25A circuit blows.
