Re: Hummingbird TX400 Vs Raytheon L365

I still own a couple of 400TX's. They were the 2nd generation 3-beam units (after Wide Portrait). While they have a nice large screen, the pixel count (resolution) is very low by todays standards. New entry level units will have a smaller screen but, they will have higher resolution than this older unit. If you fish deep water, you want high resolution. The user manual should be on HB website, under legacy products, for additional info.

The transducer in the picture looks like a transom mount, even though it says thru-hull. They might have just lost the transom mounting bracket. The speed paddle-wheel is a plus, and probably has temp, too. On the plus side, with a $8 connector change, the tilt-swivel mount, transducer, and speed-wheel will work with new 700 series units (2D 2-beam & quad-beam).

If it is all in good working order, and you just need a basic unit, maybe offer $60-70. Otherwise, save the money and buy a new unit.

PS: Don't have any experience with Ratheon.
