My trim tab has recently froze up. I can feel that I am getting power to the actuator but movement is nonexistent. My question is: Is it possible to unfreeze the actuator? If so, any advice would greatly be appreciated. Also, if the actuator needs to be replaced- how involved is it?

Re: Replacing-Lenco Actuator 101

i'm not an expert but i did hook up my trim tabs from old parts in a box, so here goes
if it were me I would disconnect the hoses that go to the tabs and see if fluid (transmission on mine) is comming out into a jar. It will be under pressure so have a friend just touch the trim switch.
this is a great way to change the oil as well
if the trim pump works you will see the oil, I would think maybe you might have low oil maybe water or a clog
just my 2c worth
listen to the pump motor you can hear if its got issues
