Powerwinch Motor

The motor on my 12 year old Powerwinch let the smoke out. Actually it was the black wire to two of the brushes that let the smoke out. But anyway, it really let the smoke out - burned the wire right in two where the lead comes out of the motor case. I guess I could buy a new motor from Powerwinch, but has anyone had success in having a 12v motor repaired?

Check with your local auto electric shop. We have one that says if it runs on 12V, they can fix it.

Well, I asked our maintenance manager who might repair 12v motors in our area. He said to bring it in and he would look at it. I brought it to him this morning and he just called to tell me the motor was repaired. That was pretty easy.
