1969 Evinrude 85hp. I'm trying to hook the 3 wires into the shift button module. I cannot find any diagrams for the wiring. Colors going to it are purple green and blue.

I have xd50 for oil. I have the new ignition wired up. Still have a Brown wire that I cannot find a spot for on the ignition. It's turning over but not starting. Also, the starter is not disengaging. Getting fuel and spark at plugs. Any suggestions?

Update.. charged battery and the starter is now disengaging. Still haven't found where or if the Brown wire should be connected to the ignition. Is there a killswitch on the motor?

If it's a light brown/tan, it may be for the temperature/overheat light.

The oil MH Hawker was referring to was the blend needed for your electric shift lower unit. Sometimes referred to as Premium Blend or Type 'C', depending on the source.
