I have a 1985 Force 50 ho model 507x5a that has a weird issue
I went through and was decarbing it. Everything was going fine. Then brought it to the lake. Started right up. Started driving around the lake and got up to a decent speed. After a few minutes the motor acted a bit strange with a bit of a loss of power. It then died.
Managed to "jump it" by shorting the battery to the starter. It was Erving extremely high but since we were strangers at the opposite side of the lake I had to hurry and throw it in gear and fly back to shore.
I've now noticed that the actual ignition switch was falling apart. Replaced that per the Seloc manual wiring diagram and found the circuit breaker keeps blowing every time I try and start the motor. And of course it won't start.
I'm not sure what to check
Switch Wiring:
B - red
C - green
S - yellow
M - white
I - blue
Engine wiring colors
Blue - stop 2
White - stop
Yellow - start
Red - positive
Green - choke
Any help that anyone could give me would be appreciated very much. The kids are so sad we got stuck out on the lake yesterday and want to go fishing.
Thanks,
Nathan
