1980 mercury 90hp wiring question ignition wire

anybody know which wire the ignition wire to the engine is? I can't find controls for this(stolen) and want to test run engine

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... Usually red is battery, 'n purple is ignition, black is ground,...

Even though this is electrical, ya might do better in the Merc Outboard forum,....
