Need some help...
I have a 1981 Evinrude and the tilt trim is acting up and I need help diagnosing the problem.
When I purchased the boat, it was always slow when lowering, but worked great when raising the motor.
Also, as long as I've owned the boat lowering the unit using the switch on the bow would always blow the fuse.
Last week the switch on the control stopped working all together.
The switch at the bow still raises the motor fine but blows the fuse when lowering the unit.
I have wired in a new switch on the console to replace the switch on the control but it still does not work.
I have also replaced the solenoid.
I have power at the new switch and power at the solenoid as well.
