I'm in the process of a total rewire on my 24' Albemarle. Volvo Penta 5.7 Gi.
I'm confused as to the wiring of the ACR. I currently have a Perko 1/2/Both switch and am adding a Guest ACR.
Do I eliminate the orange wire from the alternator + output to the starter? I am assuming that the charging circuit should now be routed to the ACR then to each battery ACR Wiring.gif

Attached is the wiring I propose to follow. Thanks.

Your title says ACR which is an automatic charge relay, but your diagram is for an isolator. If your installing an isolator then your correct. The orange wire is removed from the starter, and is run to the isolator input terminal. So you will need at least a 10 AWG wire to connect to the ALT wire just removed from the starter, splice the new wire to the old, and run it to the isolator

Just remember never run the motor with the battery switch in OFF position

Thanks, Dodge. Yes, it is an isolator. Guest 2501. The PO had installed an isolator and did not eliminate the orange wire to the starter and that didn't seem right.
